I got an internship with SIP Shanghai Engineering and Consulting, Inc. SIP provides project management, Engineering services, and consulting to firms who want to build in China for the first time.

I will be working 16 hours a week. I'm going to be getting paid 22 RMB and hour, which is $3.24 cents an hour. haha. Yeah, I'm going to be cashing in big time. Actually, I wasn't expecting pay so it'll be a plus. Plus, I'm looking for experience and networking, and I'll be getting both with this internship. I start this Wednesday, the 8th of October. I have already been busy with school, but now it's going to be really interesting.
My duties include cold calling to capture leads and to advertise SIP's name to the public. The interesting part is that if I get a lead, I have the opportunity to follow the project until the end. This includes meetings and presentations with the clients. This will serve as a major incentive to capture leads. I know cold calling isn't the best assignment ever, but not all internships are like ContraVest.
That reminds me. I would like to thank Mr. Steve Ogier for the letter of recommendation he wrote. I strongly believe it helped me in acquiring this internship. Thank you.
As I will be working with the Project Management side of this firm, you should check out this link to learn more about the Project Management side. The 0-3 stage method SIP has in place seems practical and simple, but i think it's genius.
